History and values

It all started in 1953 near Strasbourg, where the Burgard family moved in to run a small traditional artisan bakery. In 2001, Nathalie and Emmanuel Goetz took over, and the Alsatian company accelerated its development, doubling the size of its production facility as well as the number of employees, and increasing revenues fourfold.
With baking expertise and a dynamic network of 15 Alsatian shops, the company diversified its activities, branching out into a large range of bakery, snacking, and cocktail party products.
The company has many loyal clients, both industrial and retailers in France and abroad. The entire facility has received ISO 9001, ISO 50001 and IFS certification. Innovation is what drives the company, with an R&D team of 6 individuals who develop nearly 100 new products per year. Company culture drives employees to proactively innovate to help their clients and inspire them.

Our specific expertise resides in:

Bakery products: the company is historically entered around the Pretzel. The current range encompasses a number of bakery specialities such as malicette, buns, multigrain bread and various international breads.

Catered snacks: for the past 15 years, we have developed various assortments specifically for aperitifs, with many different recipes and sizes from the small 5g (0.17 oz) bite to the larger 3.5 kg (7.7 lb) surprise bread. Surprise breads are always filled and can be made with bread dough, pretzel dough or polar bread. Our aperitif products are inspired by snacking classics and made even smaller for an aperitif: burgers, hot-dogs, minicettes, mini navette bread…

Canapés: the latest Burgard innovation. A delicious collection of 50 original recipes with infinite pairing possibilities. These products are available on trays or various ready-to-use displays.

- Snacking: our breads are diverse (made in-house) and our fillings are generous, from burgers to focaccia, hot dogs, baguette sandwiches, malicettes, bagels…
